CAFE DUPRI=EL FIN?

ANOTHER HIP HOP BUSINESS FALLS DOWN THE DRAIN.IS IT ME OR THE FAILURE HIP HOP MOGUL'S BUSINESS ENTERPRISES SEEM TO BE DOOMED TO FAIL FROM THE GET GO.

THE LATEST BUSINESS ENDAVEOR FOR JERMAINE DUPRI HAS FAILED. FIRST HIS FORAY INTO VODKA BUSINESS NOW THIS CAFE DUPRI. READ THE FOLLOWING REPORT FROM SOHH HOMIE GYANT ABOUT IT.

Jermaine Dupri is in the news today and this time it’s got nothing to do with his lavish parties or superstar girlfriend. This time it’s got to do with shocking allegations from JD’s former restaurant staff employees. Find out what’s really hood below.

Jermaine Dupri’s highly touted Buckhead eatery is dead center in a recession controversy. According to WSB-TV the music mogul’s bistro, Café Dupri has closed it doors. But there’s just one problem…nobody told the employees. [Watch Video Here]

Café Dupri has closed it doors indefinitely. After months of problems it seems that the best decision was to just end the business venture. However, allegations of worker abuse is receiving most of the media coverage.

Several workers are complaining that they’ve gone as far as several weeks without collecting a paycheck. And to add insult to injury some are even claiming that they were suddenly forced to sign confidentiality agreements barring them from discussing anything about the restaurant to anyone.

I've heard about the shady business practices over at Café Dupri for the past 3 months. I’ve gotten numerous emails from employees who were putting JD’s mom Tina on blast complaining about abusive working conditions and unpaid salaries.

I figured they were just some hatin’ ass ex-employees who were bitter and decided to pay it no mind. But after watching the video it would appear that somethings going on. How do you explain closing down a company and not telling the employees? How do you explain several bounced employee checks? But most importantly how do you force employees to sign a confidentiality agreement when you're about to go out of business?

Tina insists that all the employees were paid. And if that’s true then there shouldn’t be one employee that has a returned NSF check from Café Dupri, right?

The Recession In depth Preview Young Jeezy

Less Than 3 weeks until the Recession(Def Jam Marketing, its so elementary at times) but the fellow by the name of Jay Jenkins returns to expand on how rough it is for the hood and america and that we need a change(didnt we just have that with Nassir Jones latest album oh well). Part dope boy and part social activtist (9th grade dropout go figure), Jeezy's latest attempts to return to the core of the reason we all start listening to him. After his last LP, people wondered what happen to the vintage Jeezy, had he turned into an industry nigga and forgot about the trap. Or was just the dreaded sophomore slump( 1.9 million sold to 1.2 million records not a bad slump at all) and label politics. With the state of the industry and his own imprint CTE(USDA underachieved and Bloodraw solid debut album was mishandled) can Jeezy come to save the day. All early indications says yes but coming off a high of Put on and the remix to come back with crazy world as a 2nd single might be another slight mis step. Only time will tell, but the good folks over at Complex magazine got a preview of the album and the following to report......

"THE RECESSION (INTRO)”

Producer: DJ Toomp
Quote: “It’s a recession everybody broke/So I came back to give everybody hope.”
Sounds Like: “I Got Money” with eerier synths from T.I.’s “What You Know”.
Synopsis: Hearing Toomp on the first track of the album instead of 4 or 5 tracks in is like skipping the foreplay and going straight to the fuckin’. And as real as a recession is, you can’t help but smirk at how the newscaster sampled in the intro considers the R-word taboo.

“CRAZY WORLD”

Producer: Midnight Black
Quote: “If this world keep spinnin’/Yeah my rims still spinnin’/Even though the money slow we still spendin’.”
Sounds Like: Jeezy throws a jab at Bush while riding a wave of horns that’s similar to Blood Raw’s “Louie Bag”.
Synopsis: People still ride on spinners? Now that’s crazy.

“AMAZING”

Producer: Drumma Boy
Quote: “Bitch I’m amazing/Look what I’m blazing/Eyes so low that I look like an Asian.”
Sounds Like: “Put On,” minus Kanye.
Synopsis: We already know Drumma Boy cranks out grand slams for Jeezy, Rocko, and Tip, but it takes Jeezy’s unabashed honesty on this one to take you out of the occasional monotony of Drumma’s style.

“LET THE DOLLAR CIRCULATE”

Producer: Don Cannon
Quote: “I’ma start off slow, yeah so so/They love me out in D.C., just like Go-Go.”
Sounds Like: A soulful version of “Mr. 17.5’” with a Go-Go twist.
Synopsis: You wonder why no one sampled this forgotten Billy Paul gem by the same name before, seeing as making it rain has been the thing to rap about. Thank the man that gave us “Me And Mrs. Jones” for Canon’s inspiration.

“WORD PLAY”

Producer: Justice League
Quote: “I’m way too intelligent for you to play with my intelligence.”
Sounds Like: The thick drums of JL’s signature percussion heard on 2 Pistols’ “Gettin Money Mane”.
Synopsis: This is supposed to be Jeezy’s fuck you to non-believers about his lyricism. This line is as dumbed down as he gets.

“VACATION”

Producer: DJ Nasty
Quote: “I’m outta here, you a postcard.”
Sounds Like: “White Girl” with a tan.
Synopsis: The hook is catchy as hell, but we’re not confident this one will stand out from the many other 808 thumpers that dominate the album.

“MY PRESIDENT”

Producer: Da Bizness Productions
Quote: “Because I’m soul survivor that don’t make me a convict/‘Be all you can be,’ that sounds like some dumb shit.”
Sounds Like: “My Hood” for the vote or die crowd.
Synopsis: Forget Jesse Jackson and his rainbow coalition jibber-jabber, Jeezy gets colorful with his metaphors to describe rims to Jordans to the first prez with some pigment. Def Jam also stated that Nas will be appearing on the final version.

“WHO DAT”

Producer: Shawty Redd
Quote: “Fly to the club in a helicopter—I’m not talking the one with the propellors”
Sounds Like: Shawty Redd took “Black Dreams” (from The Prime Minister mixtape) and made it a nightmare.
Synopsis: If your ears don’t bleed listening to the orgy of instruments on the track, then you’ll have a seizure.

“HUSTLER’S AMBITION”

Producer: Drumma Boy
Quote: “Grandma at church while I’m in the refrigerator/In search of the baking soda, right next to the mashed potatoes.”
Sounds Like: “Hypnotize” with beefed up drums.
Synopsis: For trappers, having a song named “Hustler’s Ambitition” is like hopsters rapping about the ‘80s. Had to do it.

“WHAT THEY WANT”

Producer: Midnight Black
Quote: “I’m playing baseball the same size as golf balls.”
Sounds Like: The drip-drop keys from “Trap Or Die”.
Synopsis: Throughout the metaphor-heavy song, Jizzle compares making a million dollars to playing various ball related sports. And he doesn’t say “no homo” once!

“TAKE IT THERE” f/ Trey Songz

Producer: Fat Boy
Quote: “I’m the one she call when she want that ‘hood shit.”
Sounds Like: The happy medium between Mariah’s “Side Effects” and Usher’s “Love In This Club”.
Synopsis: The first real song catered to the ladies comes off strong like Young’s previous r&b efforts.
